The First XI
For some of these you have to download a file (small but perfectly formed) before running.
i. Register, and do an on-line scan for malware of all sorts. Does not quarantine or remove material.
ii. Shields Up, Shoot the Messenger, XPDite, DCOMbobulator, Leak Test, UnPlug'n'Pray etc
iii. Patchwork
iv. Checks your browser vulnerability to Java Applets, ActiveX Controls, Scrap Objects, Executable Downloads, VBS, javascript etc.
v. A bank of tests for common browsers - and some not so common. Allows installation of missing programs.
vi. Security Scan and on-line Virus Detection by Symantec (Norton).
vii. You will receive a dozen or so emails in the test. Your ISP should have blocked around half of these and sent you warnings.
viii. The only system-wide on-line trojan scan I could find
ix. Has two sections : Privacy and Security (Ports)
x. A dozen or so helpful DOS programs to help you recover from trojan paralysis, ascertain your virus scanner is working etc.
xi. You can also check batches of files. No batch or file to exceed 1Mb. Will check for trojans as well.
These are a few of the things about you your browser could be telling every webpage you visit. A malicious site can and will exploit this ability. It is not telling me anything, though - I can't see the above and your details are not being mined. You surf here anonymously, and the Cookie that recognizes you (if you chose to sign in) is confidential to you. Only you know who or what you are. And that's the way it should be.
